Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a Faux Finish?

Faux finishing actually encompasses a wide variety of decorative painting. Whether it be glazing, textures, distressing, or gilding, faux painting has developed into something of an art form, using different techniques to produce effects that leave virtually no traces of the tools. It's appropriate on drywall, plaster or wood, and it requires no more preparation than any other paint job, just a clean, primed surface ready for finishing.

2. With so many choices in wallpaper,
why would I choose faux painting?

There are several reasons why faux painting may be a better alternative:

a) Wallpaper may come in many different colors and styles, but
are they the right color and style for you?
b) We custom-tint the glazes for the faux painting we do, therefore
you are guaranteed a perfect match every time.
c) Who wants seams in their beautifully decorated walls?
d) Wallpaper must be stripped off when you are tired of it.
Many faux painting techniques can simply be painted
over when you are ready for a change.

3. What if I get tired of my finish?

Many faux painting techinques can be simply painted over when you are ready for a change. Others can be sanded or skimocated for a fresh start.

4. How do I take care of my new faux finish?

Faux finish is actually very durable and can withstand a lot of abuse. After the suggest curing time, it can be wiped down like painted walls. Faux glazes actually make flat-sheen walls easier to keep clean.

What if I damage my finishe?

Most finishes can be repaired. WallWorx will come out and take a look at the damage and assess at that time what needs to be done.

6. How do I choose the right colors?

In our initial consultation, we will help select the colors that best fit with both
the finish you select and your décor.

7. How much does it cost?

That is very difficult to answer. It would be like asking "How much does a car cost"? It depends on the finish yo choose and the size of your space. WallWorx does not give price quotes over the phone.

8. Who will do the work?

WallWorx has a team of faux artisans that will perform the work. They are all equally trained with hundreds of hours of experience.
